When we met up with Laura and Michael a few weeks prior to their wedding it was obvious family played a big part in their lives and it was important to them that this was captured in their wedding photographs. It was one of Perth’s first warm days of Spring when we arrived at Laura’s family home to photograph all the fussing and fluffing that goes into getting a bride ready on her wedding day. Being the first wedding in the family there was a sense of expectation and emotion. Laura’s mum was on hand to help Laura into her wedding gown with a lace up bodice. Her dad was hovering around keeping busy and ready to help when needed.
When we arrived the bouquets by Vera from Paulik Florist had been delivered and Laura was having the finishing touches done to her make up by Danica Dyson – a fully accredited makeup artist. Her hair was styled by a friend Karralee Schmitt who happens to be a hair dresser and wedding stylist. Michael from Inception Video Production soon arrived after having been to Michael’s home to capture the action of the boys at home. Laura was thrilled with her gown, a Demetrios dress from the Gown Gallery and the girl’s dresses from Noni B.
Michael and Laura had their ceremony at Saint Pauls Anglican Church in Beaconsfield. A gorgeous old church which has recently undergone renovations both on the building and the surrounding grounds. Michael and Laura liked the architecture of UWA and decided they’d like to have some of their wedding photographs taken there as well as Kings Park as they were heading to the Kings Park Function Centre for their reception.
The Kings Park Function Centre was decorated by Brooke from Pure Elegance and looked sensational. Speeches from all the special people of the day were filled with warmth, humour and emotion and kept the guests laughing and crying! Rod from Reserve Our Day did a fabulous job of keeping the night on schedule and with just the right selection of music to keep the majority of young and old on the dance floor. When we left Michael and Laura were enjoying themselves on the dance floor. A fabulous, emotion filled day for all.
