Autumn Wedding in Kings Park, Perth

Autumn Wedding in Kings Park, Perth

wedding photography perthHilary and Matthew are a discerning couple with an eye for detail, and this was very clear on their wedding day. The day flowed effortlessly, which only happens when attention to detail has been paid in the planning stages. We met with Hilary and Matthew about four weeks prior to their wedding day at Kings Park, the location chosen by them for their wedding ceremony and reception. Hilary had some specific requests for her wedding photographs. There were a couple of photographs taken of her mother on her wedding day and Hilary was keen to something similar of herself, and we were more than happy to oblige.

When we arrived at Hilary’s home on the wedding day she was still having the final touches done to her hair by hairdresser Jody Fiannaca. Her make up was completed and looked spectacular. Hilary has such beautiful skin it was amazing her make up artist Ali Price, could make Hilary look any better! Just after we arrived Urban Flowers delivered the bouquets and flowers for the girls hair, so all that was left was for Hilary to step into her gorgeous bridal gown that she found at Hob Nob.

Pamela Eves was Hilary and Matthew’s choice of wedding celebrant, a kind and generous woman who instantly puts the couple and their families at ease. Family and friends gathered to take part in the ceremony, the setting was the Pavilion in Kings Park  with a back drop of the Swan River. It was an ideal location to show case Perth to their interstate guests. What could have been a hiccup in the ceremony was discreetly averted by Hilary’s “eagle eyed” brother in-law. Once the bridesmaids had arrived at the Pavilion is was noticed Hilary’s wedding ring was missing from the ring cushion carried by Hilary’s 2 year old nephew. Hillary’s brother in-law went in search of the ring, and miraculously finding it, had it tied onto the ring cushion before the exchange of rings and with almost no-one being aware of the incident, phew!

After being greeted by their family and friends, Hilary and Matthew had arranged for their guests to enjoy champagne and freshly shucked oysters while enjoying the perfect autumn weather over looking the river and Perth city. They even arrange for a picnic including fairy bread to keep the very special little guests happy!

The bridal party left the guests for a short time for some informal wedding photographs near by. Hilary and Matthew have some wonderful stylised wedding photographs taken while strolling the grounds of Kings Park as well as a selection of candid photographs of them enjoying the company of their family and friends.

As the sun set Hilary and Matthew and their bridal party strolled over to join their guests for pre dinner drinks in the courtyard at Frasers. But just to keep every one on their toes, they were piped into their reception by a bag piper. They enjoyed the remainder of their wedding in the Private Dinning Room for an evening of celebration and fine food and wine with their very special family and friends.
