Naomi, a girl from Bruce Rock in WA met her husband Nick from London and they brought his family to Perth for their fabulous Perth wedding. But before the wedding day they gave their visitors a taste of the “outback” by celebrating New Years Eve at Bruce Rock. The visitors loved the experience and thought they were getting a true taste of the Australian outback. Campbell, Naomi’s dad was quick to impress upon the visitors it wasn’t quite the outback, as they were only a couple of hours from the city!
On the morning of the wedding we arrived at Naomi’s home to find an atmosphere of quiet expectation. Nicole Forde was completing the finishing touches to Naomi’s make up, the flowers from Cottage Garden had been delivered and the gowns, jewellery and Jimmy Choo shoes were waiting to be worn! Nick had surprised Naomi with a gift of Tiffany pearl earrings for her wedding day. Honouring the tradition of something old, something borrowed, Naomi wore the veil Nick’s mother and grandmother wore at their weddings, a beautiful veil of Nottingham lace. Her gown was made in London by Christine Kendall Couture. The bridesmaids wore soft pink, raw silk dresses.
The guys were at the church when we arrived and despite the warm summer day they were dressed in morning suits from Ede and Ravenscroft of London. Saint Columbus Church in South Perth was the venue for the ceremony, a great spot for the visitors to Perth, as it is situated high on a hill and has views over looking the river and the city. Prior and during the ceremony Les Trois Aimes were playing music.
Nick and Naomi enjoyed being driven in a Rolls Royce from Belle Classic and after taking wedding photographs they headed back to Matilda Bay Restaurant for the reception. Once again their friends who had come from near and far including the UK, Sydney, Abu Dhabi and country WA, were treated to one of Perth’s best locations. They were served drinks and hors d’oeuvre on the banks of the Swan River overlooking the boats and the city and once again enjoyed the music from Les Trois Aimes. The perfect setting for a summer wedding in Perth.
The function room at Matilda Bay Restaurant had an English garden ambiance. White cloths and chair covers and tall centre pieces with pink and white flowers. Naomi chose innovative favours for her guest. The ladies received heart shaped silver measuring spoons with Naomies favourite chocolate brownie recipe and the guys were given a silver enamelled “thong” (or flipflop) bottle opener. Steve from Black Sheep Studios was here to capture the action on video and Cranky (the band) played throughout the evening and all was a roaring success!
Not bad for a wedding planned by “long distance”, with some help from Naomi’s mum and dad!
