When Megan and Michael planned their Perth wedding day for the 6th March 2011, they planned on getting the family involved. Megan’s father Doug Booth and Uncle Ken are both wedding celebrants. With the ceremony taking place in Perth’s Queen’s Gardens, Ken did a fabulous job of making all the guests welcome and the bridal party and their parents feel relaxed. Once the formalities of giving away the bride and the official well wishes from the parents to Megan and Michael for a life filled with health and happiness, Megan’s dad took over the ceremony. Doug was understandably a little shakey with emotion to start with, but with a few deep breaths Doug guided Megan and Michael through a very moving exchange of wedding promises and rings. Keeping the family involved, Megan’s brother and Michael’s sister were witnesses to the signing of the marriage documents. After the formalities Megan and Michael were greeted with rose petals and numerous hugs and kisses from their loved ones.
Megan and Michael had even decided to entrust their wedding photography to Michael’s sister who has a flare for photography and is currently living in New York. Unfortunately just prior to the wedding she collided with a New York taxi, thankfully still able to travel to Perth to attend the wedding, but suffering a broken shoulder bone and unable to take photographs. As luck had it Megan’s sister had had contact with Peter Edwards and suggested that Megan call him in the hope he was available. With a few phone calls and a visit to our studio Megan and Michael were happy to engage us to take their wedding photographs and we were delighted to be involved with the fabulous couple and their wonderful families.
After the ceremony Michael, Megan and their bridal party had photographs taken in the streets of Perth and along the foreshore at Matilda Bay. Their reception room at Matilda Bay Restaurant looked sensational with floral decorations created by Romance Roses. Megan and Michael enjoyed drinks with their guests in the shade of the trees on the banks of Matilda Bay before moving upstairs to celebrate with family and friends.
