We Love Shooting Margaret River Weddings – Amberley Winery Wedding

south west wedding photographyIn October 2009 we were lucky enough to photograph two weddings in the one weekend in the Margaret River region. Being specialists in wedding photography we always like to arrive the day before we shoot a wedding. This way we can check out the locations we’ll be using and be sure we wont be arriving to any “nasty surprises” on the wedding day! Nothing would be worse that arriving to a wonderful garden, to discover the enthusiastic gardeners have decided to top dress the lawn with yellow sand, or to roll up at a location to find orange and black tape everywhere, because an area  is being restored. Such hiccups can waste much traveling time and time is always precious on a wedding day.

The south west can be a little like Melbourne in regards to the weather, – four seasons in one day! Fortunately on our day at Amberley the weather was kind to us. We photographed the ceremony and a few of the bridal party shots in the fabulous grounds of Amberley, then took off to Canal Rocks for some adventure in the strong winds! The bridal party were a great group and made the most of being in the fresh air! Closer to sunset we headed back to Amberley to get some wonderful shots amongst the vines and along the winding road into Amberley.

Of course quality wedding photography doesn’t happen by accident. It takes great planning. Leading up to Emma and Bryan’s wedding we met up with them to chat about locations that they were hoping to use and timing. Having abundant experience as specialists in wedding photography we know just how quickly time can disappear on a wedding day. We chatted to them about how long it would take the girls to get ready and to have professional photographs taken, encouraged them to consider how long the traveling time to and from the locations would take and gave them an idea of how long it would take to get the selection of wedding photographs that they were hoping for. All this planning resulted in a fabulous stress free day where Emma and Bryan and their parents could relax and enjoy experiencing the day unfold.
